Through my experiences, I have come to appreciate how family conflict, past trauma, abuse, and addiction influence one’s ability to cope and manage difficult times. Through our work together we will develop your resilience and ability to overcome your unique challenges.
My experience includes individual therapy, intensive in-home therapy with children and families, couples work, counseling within the criminal justice system and addiction treatment. I am especially fond of working with individuals and families in transition. I also have experience working with anxiety, depression, addiction, children’s emotional and behavioral disorders, family conflict and trauma informed therapy.
A large portion of my career was focused on working with students in the college setting. I understand the difficulties of leaving home, taking on new responsibilities, fitting in and making friends. I also have 9-years of experience in the United States Army Reserves as a combat medic. I understand the conflicts that arise between the military way of doing things, civilian life with family, friends, work, and daily responsibilities. I can be an additional support for the client and their family throughout these challenges. In addition, I offer and support families that also have challenges through balancing the responsibilities of caring for their aging parent(s) and family members with special needs.
